My oldest M. started a new daycare back in last September. To transition him, I bought him a new backpack for a new school. The old daycare he went to provided backpacks for the kids. I first heard about this backpack from a magazine, and one day while I was walking around in Soho New York, I came upon a children’s store so I went in to look around. I saw the backpack - the Dino one sitting on a table. I picked it up and knew immediately that I wanted to get it for M. From the quality to the design, it was everything I was looking for, for him. Needless to say, I bought it and surprised him with it. He loved it and tried it on immediately. It was perfect!! He’s not a very big child (31 lbs, 39″ for 4 yr old), so it did not look overwhelming on him. Afterwards, I knew it was something we had to sell on our site and introduce to our customers.

I recently took both my boys for their checkups. One for 4yr and one for 18months. The one who’s 18months went first. Cried the whole way through as usual. He’s never liked going to the doctor. Unlike his brother, who has always been good every time he visited the doctor, except this time. He was fine getting his blood taken, but when it came time for his shots, he suddenly became hysterical. All of a sudden, he started wailing. I don’t know if it’s because he saw his brother crying while he was getting his shots or something else. It was so bad, that he started having a bloody nose and it scared the heck out of me.

Nothing gives me more joy than watching my kids play together. It is like seeing my version of the happily ever afters. Of course, it turns out that is actually a very small part of parenthood. It seems that most of the time, they are scheming to see how much hair I can pull off. My oldest child seems so whiney and needy. Where did he get that from? ;) And get this, my darling terrible 2 boy had decided the easiest way to get my attention is to pee on the rug. He has been off diapers since this summer, but occasionally, he likes to tell me who’s still in control. Sometimes, he would even take off his pants first!
I wonder if I am doing this parenting bit right. I recently started listening to this great program from http://www.parentingontrack.com/. I think she got some great ideas and it’s always good to hear from someone else what might work and what might not. I am still working on lesson one, but I’ll keep you guys updated on how it goes.
